Guilty verdict in case of Springs man who was killed over Marijuana

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - An El Paso County jury has reached a guilty verdict in the case of a man who killed another man while trying to steal marijuana.

Michael Durante was found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges Thursday. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Durante was involved in the murder of Kyle Sullivan.

Sullivan lived with two roommates who operated a marijuana grow in their basement. He was watching the grow while his roommates were out of town when he was killed.

Another man, Daniel Newell, pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder in the same case.
