EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide on the 3900 block of Shining Star Drive.

Authorities say they got the call around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.  When deputies arrived, they found a man dead.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office say multiple people were in the home when the killing occurred. They also said that the victim and the shooter knew each other.

No arrests have been made as EPSO investigates a probable cause.

Neighbors in the area said the community has always been safe.

"I was shocked to see the yellow tape," said Bill Bell, a local resident. "It's really weird for something like this to happen in this area, it's just so nice."

Other neighbors told us they knew people living inside the home.

"I'm sure it was strictly a domestic dispute they were in," said Vance Cauffman. "I don't feel unsafe here."

EPSO says that there isn't any danger to the public.

This is the county's 4th homicide for 2017.

Stay with KRDO for further updates, more details are expected to be released later today.
