Parents arrested after infant found dead in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado Springs police have arrested two adults for the death of an infant.

John Ostrander, 21, and Donica Mirabal, 23, were arrested on Monday night for First Degree Murder and Child Abuse Resulting in Death.

This comes after officers responded to the 1500 block of South 8th Street at around 6 p.m. on February 28. 

When they arrived, they found 6-week-old Zayden Ostrander dead. 

KRDO NewsChannel 13 obtained the arrest affidavits for this case on Tuesday afternoon.

Representatives from the Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit were contacted and responded to assume responsibility for the investigation.

This is the 21st homicide investigation in Colorado Springs for 2017.
