COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs man was arrested after parole officers said he was carrying guns and in possession of methamphetamine.
Officers arrived at a mobile home around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 5100 block of Airport Road. When they arrived, they contacted Michael Powell, 34. He was working on two pistols on the roof of his car at the time, officers said. With the guns was a substance that suspected to be methamphetamine, according to the officers.
One of the officers noted that one of the guns, identified as a Ruger 9 mm, resembled a weapon that had been stolen in September 2016. Colorado Springs police were called to the scene to provide assistance.
The suspected drug was tested and identified as methamphetamine. It weighed over 100 grams, according to detectives.
Powell was later arrested.
