Four people found dead in Springs home identified, deaths ruled murder/suicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The bodies of two adults and two children were found in a Colorado Springs home Tuesday evening. 

The discovery was made at around 7:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of El Morro Road, which is west of the intersection of S. Academy Boulevard and El Morro Road.

Officers went to the home on a welfare check call. That's when they found the bodies. 

The woman was identified as Lucero Badillo Castillo, 26. The children were identified as Rodolfo Barcenas Badillo, Jr., 8, and Laela Barcenas Badillo, 5. All three died of gunshot wounds and their deaths have been ruled homicides.

The man was identified as Rodolfo Barcenas Alcantara, 29. He died of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a suicide. 

These deaths represent the second, third and fourth homicides of 2017 in Colorado Springs. There had been no homicides in the city at this time last year.
