Suspect in murder of 23-yr-old in El Paso County described as drug kingpin

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - One of the suspects arrested in connection with the man found murdered along Highway 24 near Peyton was in court on Tuesday.

At a proof of evidence hearing, detective and forensic experts testified against Jorge Galvan-Flores, also known as "bird."

They described Galvan-Flores as a drug kingpin and said missing drugs led to the murder of Lawrence Gloster back in April.

Detectives also say one of the other suspects, "Anthony Loya," confirmed to them he is a "South Side Sureño" gang member.

Galvan-Flores denies killing Gloster and claims the killer could be Anthony Loya.

Gloster was shot 13 times and also suffered blunt force trauma.

Galvan-Flores, Loya, and another man, Israel Jimenez-Roldan, are charged with murder in connection with this case.

The hearing for Galvan-Flores resumes on August 30 at 2 p.m.
