COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The family of a slain auto shop owner has some peace now.
Eric William Grant, the second suspect wanted in connection to George Maldonado Sr. has been arrested in Philadelphia.
George Maldonado's family said the past three months waiting for Grant to be caught has been very difficult.
"It was like waiting for a miracle to happen," George Maldonado's niece, Candace Maldonado said.
The family said they got the call they've been waiting for Monday night.
"My grandson called me and told me, 'Grandma, got the call you've been waiting for,'" George Maldonado's mother, Martha Maldonado said. "I said 'Are you serious? Are you serious?' My husband comes and he says 'What's wrong?' And I said 'they got him, they got him'. I'm so glad they got him, but it doesn't bring my son back."
After Grant's arrest in Philadelphia, both suspects police have named in Maldonado's murder have been caught.
Derrick Davis, the first suspect named, was arrested in Minnesota a few days after the murder of George Maldonado.
Now the family wants justice for their beloved family member.
"The death penalty isn't going to do me any good. I want them to suffer. I want them to get life for what they did, because they took a life - they should get a life," George Maldonado's sister, Theresa Maldonado said.
As they prepare for the coming court proceedings, the family pledges to stay Maldonado strong for the road ahead.
"The worst is yet to come," Theresa Maldonado said.
