Arrest made in connection to murdered teen found near Brush Hollow Reservoir

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - A suspect in the murder of a Colorado teen led law enforcement on a pursuit on Wednesday, causing multiple officers to be transported to the hospital. 

Tyler Delaney, 20, was arrested in Canon City just before 11 a.m. 

He was wanted in connection to the death of Thomas Gwardyak, whose body was found on July 29 near Brush Hollow Reservoir. 

There was a vehicle pursuit where shots were fired between law enforcement and Delaney.

No one was injured in the shootings.

Five Officers were taken to the hospital for the injuries received while trying to capture Delaney. 

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) to take over the officer-involved shooting. 

Mackenzie Ave was closed in both directions from Hwy 115 to Highland Ave for several hours. It reopened at around 8 p.m.
