Kidnapping suspect arrested after foot pursuit through Colorado Springs neighborhood

COLORADO SPRINGS - A man wanted on several charges including kidnapping was arrested after a foot pursuit through a Colorado Springs neighborhood on Tuesday morning.

At around 5:17 a.m., CSPD responded to the 6300 block of Casual Drive to investigate a 911 text reporting a domestic violence related assault.

Zakkary Haze, 24, who had several active felony warrants out for his arrest, was hiding in the victim's basement when police arrived.

Officers set up a perimeter and commanded Haze to exit the home.

He refused and escaped through the basement window.

Haze led officers on a foot pursuit through several backyards and was eventually captured.

He was then taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on the active arrest warrants, along with additional charges of kidnapping, menacing, assault, and possession of illegal narcotics.
