Only On 13: Woman slammed to the ground by police officer in viral video speaks part 2

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A viral video shows police throwing a Colorado woman to the ground, but the police department says the video doesn't tell the whole story.

The video shows the encounter between Fort Collins Police and 22-year-old Michaella Surat.

Surat reportedly tried to intervene in a fight involving her boyfriend. Police say she shoulder-checked the officer before he took her down. Through tears, she told Good Morning America that she says she doesn't understand how something like this could happen. "I don't know why anyone would loose their temper like that. It shouldn't happen to anyone, especially someone my size. It shouldn't happen to anyone even they are 200-300 pounds... doesn't matter," she said.

The Fort Collins Police Department says there is body camera video of the incident, but it is not being released right now.

Surat is facing several charges.

ABC's full, exclusive interview with Surat will air on Good Morning America this morning at 7:00 on KRDO NewsChannel 13.
