Police say victim maced then robbed inside home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - According to Colorado Springs Police, someone was sprayed with mace and then robbed inside his or her apartment Thursday evening around 8:30 p.m. (1/16/14).

Police said the mace brought the fire department to the apartment complex in the two thousand block of Carmel Drive in Southeast Colorado Springs.  Firefighters worked to get rid of the contaminated air.

The police originally thought the victim's home could have been invaded, but later they said the suspect was in the victim's apartment before spraying the victim with mace.

Police said, the suspect stole items and ran from the apartment.

Police are still investigating the robbery.
