PUEBLO, Colo. - The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with at least two vehicle break-ins Friday morning in Pueblo West.
Deputies say they got calls about a suspicious person in the 700 block of Dante Drive. There, a witness told them she saw a man running toward Joe Martinez Boulevard. While heading to the area, deputies saw a man, matching the description of the suspect, jump the fence of a home in the 700 block of South Wolcott Drive.
According to reports, the suspect, Michael Atencio-Baca, was caught carrying a car speaker, assorted tools, headphones and a bandanna filled with broken glass.
When asked about the speaker, he said a friend had given it to him. Atencio-Baca allegedly admitted to breaking a car window.
Later on, a reports led deputies to a 2011 Honda Accord with a broken window. A separate report lead them to a victim, who reported a missing black speaker and headphones.
Atencio-Baca is now facing charges of first-degree criminal trespass, possession of burglary tools, second-degree criminal trespass, a protection order violation, criminal mischief and theft.
