PUEBLO, Colo. - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office arrested a couple while they were waiting in the drive-thru of a Carl's Jr. on Friday afternoon.
The two were flagged by deputies when their Ford Escape came up as stolen out of Pueblo. The vehicle also matched the description of a vehicle that sped off from deputies around 2 weeks ago in Pueblo West.
As the Escape pulled up to the drive-thru window, deputies were able to box it in and arrest Johnathan T. Schaffer, 39, and a passenger, Christina M. Wojtala, 31.
During the arrest, deputies found a loaded handgun on Schaffer and plastic bags holding what they believed to be heroin, cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine.
Deputies learned the vehicle also had stolen license plates and the vehicle body had been altered to make it appear as if it was of another make and model.
Schaffer is facing charges first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a previous offender and a special offender.
Wojtala was arrested for first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft and a restraining order violation.
Both suspects were booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center.
