Pueblo PD arrests 20, still searching for 5 after major drug bust

PUEBLO, Colo. - After months of investigation, the Pueblo Police Department has arrested 20 individuals for their involvement in a major drug ring. The search continues for five others.

Over 60 pounds of cocaine, with a street worth of $2 million, an unknown amount of methamphetamine, around $783,750, and five vehicles have been seized as a result of the task force investigation.

On April 19, a Pueblo officer stopped Jose Tomas Ramirez for a traffic violation. A K-9 was used on his black Ford 350. The dog alerted officers to the odor of narcotics.

When the vehicle was searched, officers found a hidden compartment that had 45 sealed packages containing $373,750.

Ramirez was not arrested at the time due to a larger scale investigation being conducted. Now, he is one of the main individuals police are trying to locate.


The other wanted individuals include:

  • Manuel Gonzalez
  • Noel Bencomo Saenz
  • Cesar Ramirez Grajeda
  • Jorge Sanchez

Twenty subjects have been charged on various crimes. Those arrested and convicted are:

  • Manuel Chavez – sentenced to 34 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Rene Hernandez– sentenced to 20 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Ricardo Acosta Dominguez– sentenced to 20 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Edgar Eredia– sentenced to 18 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Andrew Alvarez – sentenced to 10 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Erick Rascon– sentenced to 10 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Jose Luis Ruiz– sentenced to 10 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Jaguer Acosta Jaquez – sentenced to 10 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Julian Gomez Hernandez– sentenced to 8 years in the Dept. of Corrections
  • Hugo de la Cruz Rueda– sentenced to 9 months in jail and 3 years of probation
  • Pedro Luna Archuleta– sentenced to 9 months in jail and 3 years of probation
  • Emmanuel Armendariz Arana– sentenced to 5 years of probation
  • Joel Hernandez – pending sentencing
