Customers identify clerk killed in Colorado Springs robbery

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A liquor store clerk was killed in an apparent robbery-gone-wrong in Colorado Springs late Wednesday night.

The crime happened at Empire Wine and Liquor in the 3300 block of N. Academy Boulevard. 

KRDO has confirmed the victim of the shooting was the 60-year-old clerk.

Customers who frequent the store identified the clerk as Donat Herr. 

Police are looking for several suspects in connection with the deadly robbery, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Lt. Howard Black, of the Colorado Springs Police Department, told reporters they are looking into surveillance video as part of the investigation.

No description of the suspects had been released as of 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
