Second arrest made in Fountain strip mall parking lot shooting

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - Police have made a second arrest in the shooting at a Fountain strip mall parking lot. 

Xavier Alexander Doucette, 19, was arrested at around noon on February 11  for his involvement in a shooting in the 7,700 block of Fountain Mesa Road that happened on February 8. 

Several people were at the parking lot at the time of the shooting, but 19-year-old Anthony Malcolm Brownlee and Doucette are the only two that have been arrested. 

A fight is what led to the shooting, according to Fountain police. 

Doucette is being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on a $10,000.00 bond. He faces the following charges:

  • First Degree Assault w/ Deadly Weapon
  • Menacing
  • Possession of a Weapon by a previous Offender
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Prohibited Use of a Firearm

Brownlee is also being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on a $500,000.00 bond. He faces several felony charges not only from this investigation but also from other unrelated cases.

The investigation is still ongoing.
