Victim of deadly stabbing identified

1 Killed, 1 Hurt In Stabbing

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The victim of a Thursday morning stabbing in Colorado Springs has been identified as 42-year-old Charles Gregory Register.

According to Colorado Springs police, Register was killed and another was sent to the hospital after a stabbing that happened at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

It happened in the 4600 block of Mallow Road, near Austin Bluffs and N. Nevada.

Police said they got calls about a disturbance. When officers arrived at the home, they found Register dead and another man, age 31, with injuries.  The injured man was transported to Penrose Hospital.  He was treated and released on Thursday afternoon. His identity has not been released.

Neighbors told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that several people in their 20s lived in the home.

They said there were several small fights that happened at the home, but nothing resulting in serious injuries.

Police said they are interviewing everyone who may have been involved in the stabbing. They are not looking for additional suspects.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit have assumed responsibility of this investigation.
