There's nothing basic about the new sugary concoction created by Starbucks for a limited run this week: the Crystal Ball Frappuccino is most likely going to be in your future if you were a fan of last year's Unicorn Frappuccino.
It's going to be available Thursday and will be sold for four days, or until supplies run out, according to Starbucks employees.
Starbucks' new drink was probably meant to be kept a mystery, but workers couldn't keep the secret and shared details on social media. It's a cream-based Frappuccino with peach flavors, marbled turquoise, and topped with rock-candy crystals, Business Insider says.
Business Insider says the coffee shop giant may be turning to viral promotions like these to make up for slumping Frappuccino sales over the past two years. The company also had a happy hour promotion to boost sales of the frozen beverages but ended that in January due to lack of sales.
