WALSENBURG, Colo. - One of the three siblings accused in a multi-state crime spree accepted a plea agreement in a Huerfano County courtroom Thursday.
Lee Grace Dougherty pleaded guilty to three charges against her. She pleaded guilty to attempted assault in the first degree and two counts of felony menacing. All of the other charges she was facing were dropped in the plea deal.
Prosecutors last week dropped attempted-murder charges against her and instead charged her with eight felony first-degree assault and menacing charges. Each charge corresponds to an officer involved in a high-speed chase Aug. 10 in southern Colorado.
Dougherty will face a total of nine to 28 years in prison.
She is being held without bond and waived her right to a jury trial.
Dougherty will be sentenced on April 30th. All evidence in her case will be destroyed after she is sentenced. The victims in her case have been notified of her plea agreement.
