WIDEFIELD, Colo. -

A fence caught on fire Wednesday (7/2/14) morning, sending neighbors running out of their homes.

It happened between Blue River Way and Corn Tassle Drive in Widefield.

Neighbors tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 an electrical box started sparking and then blew up.  They say flames rose about 25 feet into the air and set the fence on fire.

Neighbors say they ran outside and called for help.

Firefighters from Security were able to put the fire out quickly.

Firefighters are trying to determine what caused the electrical box to spark.
