Feeling lucky? Well, then make your day by revisiting the career of Clint Eastwood from no-name gunslinger and loose-cannon cop to Oscar-winning filmmaker.
Eastwood was born May 31, 1930, in San Francisco, Calif. He was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1951 during the Korean War and assigned to Fort Ord in California, where he served as a lifeguard. He has said that actors he met while in the military, including Martin Milner and David Janssen, helped him land the screen test that led to a contract with Universal Pictures paying him $75 a week to start.
