Falcon, COLO. -

It was a scary situation Friday afternoon (07-18-14) when a house fire broke out in Falcon. It happened in the 8500 block of Bohleen Road just before 1 p.m.

The person inside the home was able to safely escape before the fire spread. Firefighters from Falcon, Black Forest, Cimarron Hills, and Peyton helped put out the blaze. It didn't take long for the fire to destroy part of the second story.

"Fire crews were called to smoke coming from the top of a house. When they arrived they found heavy smoke conditions on the second floor. The fire broke through the roof," said Falcon Fire public information officer Robin Widmar.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage is not yet known.
