WOODLAND PARK, Colo. -

The Woodland Park Police Department asked the FBI for help in their search for a missing teenage girl.

Alexandra Ponte, 14, hasn't been seen since Wednesday, Sept. 4. She left her house and walked to Memorial Park in Woodland Park following an argument with her mother over a Facebook post.

Fliers for Ponte have been posted around the park and nearby businesses.

Christine Duis said she didn't believe her daughter ran away initially, but now is hoping that explains her absence.

"That is my hope and my prayer, that she planned this out and she's with someone she knows," said Duis.

Woodland Park police are treating Ponte's disappearance as a missing person but added they don't suspect any foul play.

Ponte was last seen wearing a bright blue hoodie and skinny jeans. She also had a gray and black Nike backpack.

If you have information on her whereabouts call police at (719) 687-9262.
