FORT CARSON, Colo. -

The U.S. Army garrison at Fort Carson will be simulating a vehicle borne explosion on Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 near Prussman Chapel on base.

The test is designed to test emergency response procedures and serve as a training exercise for emergency responders at Fort Carson.

Several roads will be closed during the first day of the exercise. Prussman Boulevard between Berkley Avenue and McGrath Avenue will be closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Porter Street will also be closed. There will be no road closures on Aug 27.

Passersby are encouraged to steer clear of the area so that they don't interfere with the exercise. Drivers have been asked to allow for extra travel time as they encounter first responders.
