Fort Carson working to extinguish 1,800-acre fire

FORT CARSON, Colo. - See that smoke south of Colorado Springs? A range fire at Fort Carson that started Thursday evening has already burned 1,800 acres and is currently 40 percent contained.

The fire happened at training area 38, and no structures were threatened, according to the post.

Fort Carson says multiple helicopters are dropping water on the fire to help firefighters on the ground. There are about 120 people currently fighting the fire, including the Fountain Fire Department.
