FOUNTAIN, Colo. -

Fountain Utilities says lightning knocked out the electricity for 10,000 customers in Fountain, Security, and Widefield Thursday. Power has now been restored.

The utility says a bolt of lightning hit the north Fountain substation around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, knocking out power for customers living north of C&S Road.

Service was declared fully restored just before 4:20 p.m.
