Person tests positive for West Nile Virus in Fremont County

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - A person in Fremont County recently tested positive for West Nile Virus.

As of September 1, 2017, 21 cases of human West Nile Virus have been confirmed in Colorado, including one death, according to health officials.  

Currently, a number of suspected human cases across Colorado are being investigated.

The risk of contracting West Nile virus will exist until the state sees freezing temperatures.

West Nile Virus disease is rare, but if you have symptoms including high fever, severe headache, and stiff neck, contact your health care provider immediately.
