FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - The woman who was in the vehicle that started a pursuit in Fremont County, sending five officers to the hospital on Wednesday has been identified.
Kayla Mattice was arrested alongside Tyler Delaney, who led the pursuit that shut down a portion of Hwy 115 in Canon City for several hours.
Delaney was wanted in connection to the death of Thomas Gwardyak.
Gwardyak's body was found near Brush Hollow Reservoirs on July 29.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that Mattice is facing a charge of accessory to 1st-degree murder.
Delaney is facing a charge of 1st-degree murder. He is also looking at a 1st-degree attempted murder charge for firing a gun at officers during the pursuit.
It is still unclear on what role Mattice played in the death of Gwardyak and how she got involved with the pursuit.
