Green Friday deals bring shoppers to dispensaries

Shoppers look for best bud on Green Friday

PUEBLO, Colo. - Steady streams of customers went through Pueblo dispensaries in search of the best deals including Jesse Plant, who was at The 404 Dispensary.
"I'm here for these amazing deals that they have today. It is unbelievable," Plant said.

As part of the holiday shopping kickoff, dispensaries all over the city took part in the shopping madness, claiming Friday as Green Friday and offering up deals for their customers.
"I think it's pretty important to participate with some of the deals and specials that the customers and consumers are looking for," said Ethan Shean, the district manager for Strawberry Fields.

Dispensary owner and economy professor Jim Parco said because of the expectation of good deals that has been set, even through their product is different, many dispensaries offer discounts.
"Because of the limitations on advertising the cannabis businesses face, the only real way to know what deals are being offered is you have to walk into your local dispensaries and ask them," Parco said.

But Parco said in the end, it's not much different from people searching for the best deals at his store versus any other.

"I think no matter where you go in the retail industry, cannabis or otherwise, you should expect to see some pretty good deals until Cyber Monday," Parco said.
