COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

A woman faces a mandatory life sentence in prison after being found guilty of murder in Colorado Springs.

A jury convicted Jeannette Silvia, 49, of first degree murder on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Silvia was convicted in the death of Michael Ramirez, age 60.

Ramirez was found dead at the Chief Motel, 1624 S. Nevada Avenue, on August 21, 2012. At the time, police said there were obvious signs of trauma on his body.

Another man, 50-year-old Santos Joseph Torres was also arrested in connection to the crime.

In July, 2013, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported that Torres' trial was postponed over questions about his mental competency.
