It looked like snow on the top of pikes peak earlier today, but it was hail... lots of it.
The storm sent cars into a ditch and stranded drivers for hours.
The peak re-opened to traffic around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, after over two inches of hail at the summit shut the highway down
It made the peak look like it was covered in snow at one point this afternoon.
And the hail even sent some travelers back down before they made it to the top.
"We got stopped halfway for and hour and  half, a lot of hail, we were kinda stuck there," said Edward Xong, visiting from Minnesota.
The roads were only wet, but the hail forced crews to send plows out, to clear them off.
