Jury Sees Video Of Carrier Touching, Examining Students

Second Day Of Josh Carrier Trial

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - In the second day of Josh Carrier's child sex abuse trial, jurors watched video the ex-police officer filmed with a web camera of himself performing physical exams on boys at Horace Mann Middle School.

The exams are key evidence in the prosecution's case against Carrier, alleging he molested 22 students at Mann during his time there as a school resource officer and volunteer wrestling coach.

The video, which was re-constructed by police with deleted images from Carrier's computer, show him adjusting his web camera and then later examining several boys. Some of the boys strip down to their underwear and others take off all their clothes. Carrier is seen touching the boys' skin, and at least one child's naked genital area.

The defense has argued that Carrier was performing his duties as a wrestling coach and checking for skin diseases that wrestlers can be prone to.

Earlier in the day, jurors heard about child pornography police said they recovered from Carrier's home. That included explicit pictures of girls and boys between about 10 and 14 years old found on his computer. The pictures were not shown in court, but a CSPD detective described the images.

Carrier's lawyer argued that a person could be searching for legal pornography and get a "pop up" image depicting child porn. He made the point that it could be possible to download such images if you accidentally clicked on the pop-up.

Prosecutors also brought up DVDs depicting naked children found in Carrier's house. Carrier's defense argued that some of the videos weren't clearly labeled as kiddie porn, and others, like "Puberty Education For Girls and Boys" and "Growing Up Boys" could have been used as material for someone who educates adolescents about puberty.

Carrier is facing life in prison. His trial is expected to last at least a month.
