Brother: Colorado Springs shooting...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police say a man is dead after a shooting in the 800 block of E. Vermijo Avenue, near Vermijo and S. Institute Street.

Police received a report of shots fired at around 3 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found the shooting victim lying outside of a home. He was already dead.

A man who identified himself as the victim's brother told KRDO NewsChannel 13's Mekialaya White that the victim is Alton Kelly, a 24-year-old father of two. "My brother stays here. They came here to where my brother stays and killed him. You know what I mean?", Noel King said.

King said this isn't the first time his brother's life was threatened. "Two years ago his car was shot up and God spared his life then and I guess they felt like they needed to come and finish the job.", he said.

The death is considered suspicious. Police have not identified a suspect. No other injuries were reported.
