1 dead after motorcycle crash in Colo. Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - One person was killed after a motorcycle crashed in Colorado Springs Saturday morning.

The crash happened near the intersection of East Platte Avenue and North Circle Drive.

Police tell us a car was going south on Circle and tried to make a left turn.  The motorcycle was heading north and crashed into the car. 

Two people were riding the motorcycle. Officials said both were ejected. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was transported to Memorial Hospital in critical condition. 

Police say alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in this crash.  Officers say they believe the motorcycle was speeding.

The intersection of Platte and Circle reopened 1:30 p.m.
