1 kidnapping, shooting suspect arrested

Sullivan taken into custody, Hernandez remains at large

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police have arrested one of two men accused of kidnapping a woman and shooting her in the head.

Police say Hamilton Sullivan was taken into custody shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2013. The other suspect, Jorge Luis Pilo Hernandez remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The woman was found at the intersection of N. 7th Street and W. Bijou Street at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013.

The victim was initially listed in critical condition, her health improved enough that she was able to talk to investigators.

Following that interview by detectives, arrest warrants were issued for Hernandez and Sullivan. Both men face charges of first degree kidnapping and attempted first degree murder.

Police were searching for a black Chevrolet Impala that they say the men may have stolen following the shooting. The car was found in Douglas County at around 2 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2013, but neither men were found at the time.
