2 suspects carjack a man at gunpoint

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police are investigating an overnight carjacking.

It happened shortly after midnight Saturday near Market St. and Wheeler Ave.

The victim told police he was giving an acquaintance a ride. When they arrived at the destination point, a white man came up to the car and threatened the victim with a handgun, demanding he get out of the car. The acquaintance also had a gun pointed at the victim.

When the victim did not do what the suspects demanded, the suspects began hitting him in the head and face with their guns.

The victim eventually got out of the car and the acquaintance drove off. The other suspect left in a black pickup truck with a silver toolbox in the bed.

The victim's car is a 2002 silver Grand Prix with unknown licenses plates.

The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover.
