Two pickup trucks collide early Saturday afternoon

6 hurt in Fountain Crash

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - Six people were taken to hospitals, one by helicopter, after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 85/87  in Fountain, according to the Fountain Police Department.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the crash temporarily closed Highway 85/87 between Southmoor Drive and Main Street but the highway reopened later in the afternoon.

Investigators said the driver of a pickup truck turned left in front of another pickup, causing the crash.

The driver of one truck was believed to be in critical condition and was taken by helicopter to a hospital, while the other passengers were treated for moderate injuries.
