Active search over for parole violation suspect

Police: Removed ankle bracelet, has violent tendencies

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police searched near 1700 Aeroplaza Drive on Wednesday for a man they say violated his parole.

Around 5:30 p.m., officers stopped the active search, saying the man was not found in an area motel where he was believed to be hiding. 

Police say their suspect removed his ankle bracelet and has violent tendencies.  Charges filed against the man include kidnapping and aggravated motor vehicle theft.  Police say he has made threats before and may be armed. 

The suspect's name and photograph have not been released.  We are working to get more information and will bring you updates on KRDO.com and NewsChannel 13.
