Arrest made in weekend shooting, victim remains in critical condition

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police have made an arrest in a shooting that happened Saturday night (6/21/14).

Police were called to the 2500 block of Cather Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

Neighbor Nora Revello said when she heard the shooting she rushed to get her grandchildren back in her home. The shooting is something she said she will never forget. 

"He was standing out there then he fell down and it was kind of traumatic," she said.

Revello also said even though she didn't know the man who got shot, she hopes he is Okay.

"I am praying for you. I felt real bad, and I prayed for you last night and I hope you make it because it could have been one of my kids or grandkids," she said.

Police say Cody Hurst, 27, was arrested in connection to the shooting. He is facing a first degree assault charge.

The victim, who has not been identified, remains in critical condition.
