Bomb threat forces elementary school evacuation

BUENA VISTA, Colo. - An elementary school in Buena Vista was evacuated Tuesday (4/22/14) because of a bomb threat.

The threat was directed at Avery Parsons Elementary, which is at 516 E. Main Street.

Chaffee County Undersheriff John Spezze says the threat came late in the day. Classes have been dismissed for the day and plans are in the works to sweep the school for anything dangerous.

It's unknown how the threat was received or whether students were still in class when administrators became aware of the threat.
