Controlled burn responsible for Black Forest smoke

BLACK FOREST, Colo. - The Black Forest Fire Department says a controlled burn is responsible for smoke in the area.

The department says a contractor has been burning tree debris on private land near Shoup and Herring Roads and that the contractor does have a permit to burn.

The operation is being monitored, but firefighters say there are no safety concerns that would require the burn to be stopped at this time.
