Crash at Hwy 94 and Peyton Hwy

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - Two women were airlifted to the hospital after a crash on Highway 94 at Peyton Highway on Wednesday afternoon.

Colorado State Patrol tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that a pickup truck was headed eastbound on Hwy 94 and a car was headed west.  The truck turned in front of the car, State Patrol said. A State Patrol trooper said the pickup truck driver may be charged with a DUI and vehicular assault.

Both women were extricated from their vehicles and airlifted to two local hospitals.  State Patrol says their injuries are serious. State Highway Patrol did not release the victims names but said they were two women in their mid-forties.

The Ellicott Fire Department and Shriever Air Force Base assisted in the crash.
