Deadly crash, car fire

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - One person was killed in an overnight crash and car fire in El Paso County.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. on S Academy Blvd on the overpass over B St.

The Colorado State Patrol said a driver went through the center median and crashed a Jeep into a guardrail. The Jeep then burst into flames and was consumed by fire before firefighters arrived.

The driver wasn't able to escape the Jeep and died. Troopers do not know the driver's identity at this time.

Troopers say alcohol use is considered to be a factor in the crash, but are still investigating.
