Earth Day events planned

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Monday April 22, 2013 is Earth Day. There are several events planned throughout Colorado Springs.

Bulbs Plus is holding their annual event Monday from 11 until 2 p.m. Representatives will be on hand to give you tips on how to save on energy by using dimmers and occupancy sensors.  There will also be food and prizes.

Bestway Disposal is teaming up with HB&A for the second ever Tidy Our Neighborhood cleanup event. You should meet at the Coffee Exchange at 4 p.m. to help collect and recycle materials in the area. After the clean-up people are invited to head over to McCabe's Tavern for discounted food and drinks.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is making a stop at Colorado College Monday night.  It features environmental and adventure films that illustrate the earth's beauty. It starts at 7 p.m. in the Armstrong Theater.

Monday also kicks off National Park Week. That means fee free days at National Parks until Friday.
