River Cleanup

The Y and Pueblo Parks and Recreation will be holding a River Cleanup this Saturday.

Earth Day is next week...so get out with us on Saturday and make a difference in our city!

River Cleanup along the Arkansas River Trail

Saturday, April 19th at 9:00am (show up early to get ready!) until 12:00pm

We will meet at the main plaza by the whitewater park. You can park in the dirt lot by the whitewater park behind 1212 w 4th st

You'll need to bring a pair of gloves, a bottle of water, shoes you may be willing to get wet, and a snack if you think you'll get hungry! Oh, and bring some friends!


Regional Veterans Resource Forum

Staff from the Office of Senator Mark Udall will co-host a veterans resource forum to help veterans learn about benefits and programs available to them.

The fourth annual Regional Veterans Resource Forum will be held Saturday, Apr. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pueblo Community College's Fortino Ballroom (900 W. Orman Ave.).

Find out about federal, state, educational, mental health and medical benefits as well as the Pueblo Veterans Clinic, jobs for vets, housing and homeless programs, mortgage loan programs and special benefits for women veterans. This is free, and reservations are NOT needed to attend.


Egg Hunt

The 2nd Annual Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Lea Gonzales Park at 10:00am. The event will include 20,000 eggs, prizes, games, bounce houses, and the Easter Bunny for all children ages 12 and under. To kick off the festivities, the Easter Bunny will be delivered to the field via a Flight for Life helicopter.


Beeper Easter Egg Hunt

The Beeper Egg Hunt is for the visually impaired.
Baskets are placed on the property, and along with being filled with eggs, they are fitted with beepers. Children (ages 12 and under) locate the basket via the beeping and get an egg from the basket before moving on to find another.

Colorado State University - Pueblo hosts "Let's Move" Day for Pueblo youth

Students and faculty in the Exercise Science, Health Promotion, and Recreation Department at Colorado State University - Pueblo will host a day dedicated to promoting active, healthy lifestyles for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. The event is free of charge.

As part of the national "Let's Move" campaign, CSU-Pueblo will lead a day of free activities, demonstrations, and access to health-related vendors from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19 on the CSU-Pueblo campus. The event will be held at Massari Arena beginning with registration at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. A full range of activities and demonstrations, including bocce ball, yoga, rock wall climbing, field hockey, rugby, golf, and volleyball and several health-related vendors, will be featured between 9 a.m. and noon. The first 300 participants will receive a free t-shirt and "goodie bag".


Mile High Salute to Fans Tour

The Denver Broncos are hitting the road to thank fans all across Colorado. The tour includes autographs and photos with Broncos players, cheer leaders and Miles the mascot.

EARTH DAY at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center!

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center and Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site will host the 2014 Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This fun, free, family event focuses on inspiring and educating youth and the community to take care of our natural treasures, live green and protect our environment through green thinking and living.

The National Park Service is proud to once again join with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks, to present on April 19-27, 2014, National Park Week, a presidentially proclaimed celebration of our national heritage.

On opening weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 19 to 20, every national park will give you free admission!

*Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
