Footprints in snow lead officers to burglary suspects

Police: Both suspects confessed to crime

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police officers were able to find two men suspected of breaking into cars on Monday by following their footprints in the snow.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers were called to the 9000 block of Aragon Drive for reports of burglars breaking into cars.

The two burglary suspects ran away before officers arrived.  Because of the snowfall, officers were able to follow fresh footprints to a residence in the 4800 block of Herndon Circle.  Two men were found at the home.

Police said that both men confessed to breaking into vehicles in order to steal valuables.  Clayton Romero and Nathan Roulier are charged with First Degree Criminal Trespass.
