COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A teenager has pleaded guilty to harassment in a Falcon cyber-bullying case that came to light earlier this year.
Kyle Pate, 18, admitted in court to playing a key role in a Facebook page called "Falcon Problems." The Page featured photos of Falcon High School students that included insults, along with threats of beatings and one post about a shooting.
The 4th Judicial District confirms that that as part of a deferred sentence, Pate will have to write a letter of apology to the high school as well as a three page essay about cyber-bullying.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that Pate will also have to perform 40 hours of community service, and that the charge will be removed from his record if Pate fulfills his obligations under the deferred sentence. Pate must also avoid getting into anymore legal trouble for one year.
