High speed chase leads to crash

Crash happens in neighborhood

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs man is in jail after leading police on a high speed chase.

Richard Davis, age 39, was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Police tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that Davis was pulled over in a vehicle that had a reported stolen Colorado license plate.   After making initial contact, Police said Davis accelerated away from this location at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle however the driver failed to yield.  Police called off the chase when the suspect's vehicle entered a residential neighborhood.   The suspect crashed a few minutes later and Police were able to arrest him them.  

Davis was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
