Lamar beating victim dies at Pueblo hospital

LAMAR, Colo. - A man who was found badly beaten in Lamar Friday night has died at a hospital in Pueblo.

Rudy Ray Munez, 48, was found beaten in the 100 block of Hickory St. at around 11:30 p.m. on July 25, 2014.

Munez suffered serious head injuries and was unconscious and unresponsive when police arrived.

In a news release furnished by the Lamar Police Department to the Lamar Ledger newspaper, police said Munez was taken to Prowers Medical Center in Lamar initially and then transferred to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo.

Police said they identified Mikel Logan Sisneros, 21, of Lamar, as a suspect in the attack Sisneros was arrested without incident.

Police said that they received word that Munez died from his injuries on July 29, 2014.

Sisneros is currently facing 2nd degree assault charges, but that is expected to change now that Munez has passed away.

Sisneros is being held at the Prowers County Jail on 50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 6 at 8:30 a.m.
