MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. - Two men have been charged in the murder of a woman found underneath a mobile home in March.
On August 15, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for 44-year-old Howard York for the murder of 32-year-old Crysta Chisholm. One day later, 44-year-old Daniel Trujillo was arrested for accessory to first degree murder.
Chisholm's body was found under a mobile home at 15 El Paso Boulevard in Manitou Springs on March 12th. York's brother told KRDO NewsChannel 13 in March that the mobile home belonged to Howard York. At the time of the discovery, York was already behind bars for aggravated robbery of the Papa Murphy's in the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue. In that robbery, York wielded a machete, nearly injuring employees in the restaurant.
York was sentenced to 17 years for the machete robbery. His mobile home was allegedly searched by authorities after his arrest but Chisholm's body was found under the home a month later by two neighbors.
After a four and a half month investigation, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for York.
Police are not saying what the motive was behind the murder. York is being held on no bond and Trujillo is being hold on a $500,000 bond.
